seekda’s Web Services Invoker (called by us also in the past the Web Services Tester) has gone through a set of considerable improvements. We decided that the user-friendly and easy to use invoker would be more than ever a priority. With this new release we focused to a greater extent on improving the graphical presentation of information available to our users. Also the interaction between a service and a user should now improve extensively.
To use seekda’s Web Services invoker:
(1) Find the appropriate service using any of available methods (search by keywords, browse by countries, browse by tags, etc.)
In the example below I browse for services using tags. By selecting “free” tag I obtain the list of services, which I should be capable to invoke without further registration with the provider of this service.
2) Obtain the license key or username/password. In a case the service is not free, the user will usually have to obtain on his/her own the license key or username/password from the provider. It can be usually accomplished on the website of the provider.
I will test TimeService from nanonull.com. As in our example I have been searching for a free service, I do not have to register at the provider website to obtain a license key to be capable to invoke the service. I can process directly to service invocation.
3) Invoke the service by selecting “use now” button. The main window gets shadowed and you are presented with the set of parameters, which should be populated before service is invoked.
In our example I am invoking getCityTime operation
4) Provide all necessary parameters.
For the TimeService I must only provide the name of the city for which I want to obtain the current time. I will invoke the service for the city name “Vienna”.
5) seekda proxies your request and invokes service on your behalf. During the invocation process you are presented with the progress bar.
6) Results of the Web Service invocation are getting presented at the final screen.
7) Finally you can also leave your feedback to us and to others. Please give a score and leave the comment regarding the use of the service. Your feedback is crucial in improving our search engine as well as helping others, who like you test given Web service.
